The academic community of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding participated in a meeting dedicated to the opportunities offered by Erasmus+ programs for students and the sports sector.
During the event, participants learned about the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program for students—including study abroad, internships, and short-term courses in EU countries with financial support. Particular attention was paid to the simplified eligibility requirements for Ukrainian students after 2022, specifically flexible deadlines, credit recognition during the war, and support for certain categories of participants. Already today, students from Mykolaiv are actively participating in international exchanges with European universities.
We also discussed the Erasmus+ Sport program, which supports small-scale partnership projects in the fields of grassroots, inclusive, and adaptive sports. For local sports organizations, this can serve as an important tool for development, fostering social cohesion, and supporting people in need of rehabilitation.
Participants were also introduced to the opportunities offered by the European Solidarity Corps program—volunteering, solidarity projects, and internships for young people aged 18–30 (and in some cases, up to 35). These initiatives are aimed at supporting communities, environmental projects, promoting inclusion, and providing assistance in wartime.
Participation in such programs opens up new opportunities for integrating European practices into the fields of education and sports in Mykolaiv, and also promotes the development of youth initiatives and international cooperation.
The events took place as part of a project to establish the Office for European Integration, which is being implemented by the NGO “Pivden Center for Adult Learning and Education” in cooperation with the Mykolaiv Development Agency, with support from the ULEAD with Europe program, funded by the European Union and its member states.
