Academic plagiarism
Academic plagiarism is the act of presenting (in whole or in part) scientific (creative) results obtained by others as the results of one’s own research (creative work) and/or reproducing published texts (published works of art) by other authors without acknowledging their authorship.
On April 4, 2018, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine signed a memorandum with the company “Antiplagiat” regarding the checking of academic papers for plagiarism. Under the terms of the memorandum, the following is envisaged:
Free checking of dissertations for a period of 7 years;
Free checking of academic publications in university journals for a period of one year for those higher education institutions that have not yet been offered this opportunity;
development of joint educational materials on academic integrity;
development of proposals regarding regulatory and legal frameworks, as well as the organization of joint public events on academic integrity.
