In October 2024, as part of Ukraine’s Cybersecurity Month, the Department of Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration organized lectures for students at the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding. The main theme of the event was “Personal Cybersecurity and Cyber Hygiene.”

Cybersecurity Month is held nationwide to raise public awareness of cyber threats and the importance of cyber hygiene in today’s digital world. Lectures organized at universities are part of this national initiative.

During the events, department specialists discussed with students the importance of adhering to basic cyber hygiene and security rules in light of modern threats in the digital space, as well as the principles of protecting personal information, proper password management, avoiding phishing attacks, and the risks that may arise when using public Wi-Fi networks.

In addition, the latest technologies in the field of personal data protection were discussed, as well as tools that help minimize risks when using the internet and digital devices.

“Digital literacy and an awareness of the risks in the online space are now an integral part of every modern person’s life. It is especially important for young people to be equipped with the knowledge that will help them protect their privacy and information resources,” noted representatives of the department.

The event marked an important step in broadening students' understanding of digital security and helps foster a culture of responsible use of online resources and digital technologies.

The event was marked by active participation from students, who asked questions and discussed current challenges in the field of cybersecurity.
