Purpose of the event: To identify priority tasks for the strategic development of shipbuilding and the maritime transport sector; to discuss innovative scientific and technical developments in shipbuilding and ocean engineering; and to explore ways to attract investment in the development of the domestic shipbuilding industry. To create a favorable environment for the effective implementation of research results and the involvement of young scientists, particularly students, which will serve as the foundation for Ukraine’s revival as a European maritime state and for shipbuilding and maritime education, ensuring that the industry’s development needs are met.

The university has achieved significant accomplishments in education and research, and its activities have a positive impact on the development of the shipbuilding, maritime, and other sectors of the national economy, as well as on their technical policies. University researchers actively collaborate with institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and foreign universities, and joint research projects are carried out. International and national scientific and technical conferences are held. Significant attention is paid to the publication of scientific works by the university’s scholars and to the publication of scientific, scientific-methodological, and educational literature. The Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding maintains close ties with foreign universities, research institutions, and academic organizations. The university has significant achievements in educational and scientific activities, and its work positively influences the development of the shipbuilding, maritime, and other sectors of the national economy, as well as their technical policies. The institute’s scientists actively collaborate with institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU) and foreign universities. Department branches are being established, and joint research projects are being carried out. International and national scientific and technical conferences are held. The NUK hosts off-site meetings of the Southern Scientific Center of the NASU and the Ministry of Education and Science. Significant attention is paid to the publication of scientific works by the university’s researchers and the publication of scientific, scientific-methodological, and educational literature. An important scientific and technical problem of national significance has been solved—the scientific, methodological, design, and technological foundations for the creation and serial production of universal transport vessels and ocean engineering equipment have been developed, resulting in the construction of more than 180 vessels and 20 ocean engineering systems at domestic and foreign shipyards. Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding maintains close ties with foreign universities, research institutions, and academic organizations. Key topics for discussion: The conference will address current issues in the development of innovative technologies for shipbuilding and ship repair; the development of modern research methods in the design and engineering of ships and offshore structures; the implementation of CAD systems for ships (information and communication technologies in shipbuilding); the creation of cutting-edge technologies and materials in marine engineering; the development of innovative means to improve ship power plants and systems and ensure environmental safety in shipbuilding and ocean engineering facilities; maritime safety; innovations in ship electrical systems and automation; project and program management in shipbuilding; investment and innovation-driven development of shipbuilding and the maritime transport sector; innovations in shipbuilding education; maritime transport law.
