This week, the Department of Automation at the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding received state-of-the-art equipment for its industrial robotics laboratory. This event was the result of the university’s collaboration with the world-renowned company Festo as part of the investment project “Improving Higher Education in Ukraine for Results,” which is being implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in partnership with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment: robots, mechatronic and automated systems, computers, controllers, machine vision systems, and other devices.
The laboratory will become an integral part of the students’ education and will allow them not only to familiarize themselves with the basic principles of industrial robots, but also to gain hands-on experience in creating automated production lines, software systems, and mechanisms that will be used in real-world industrial settings.
The robotics laboratory plans to teach master’s and doctoral students programming languages, as well as the development and testing of algorithms for industrial robots, using a collaborative industrial robot from Universal Robots as an example.
The Industrial Robotics Laboratory will play an active role in the educational activities at the National University of Kyiv. Specifically, this involves developing specialized courses and electives in various fields.
Stay tuned for updates! You'll soon have the chance to try out the new devices.
