The Alumni Association of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding is a voluntary, non-profit organization (legal form: public organization) that brings together alumni, faculty, and friends of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, the Admiral Makarov Ukrainian State Maritime and Technical University, and the Admiral S.Y. Makarov Maritime Institute.
The purpose of establishing the Alumni Associationis:
- promoting the implementation of educational, scientific, socio-economic, and scientific-technical projects to support the University’s statutory development;
- to bring together the efforts of alumni and friends of the University from all generations to preserve and promote its traditions and spiritual values;
- protecting the legitimate social, economic, and creative rights and other interests of its members;
- promoting the development of the shipbuilding industry and other scientific and industrial sectors of Ukraine’s maritime economy.
The objectives of the Alumni Association are:
- building a positive image for the University and enhancing its prestige as the only specialized shipbuilding university in Ukraine with Level IV accreditation;
- the preservation and promotion of the traditions and spiritual values of the University’s alumni across generations;
- promoting the self-fulfillment, professional development, and career advancement of the University’s students and alumni;
- creating opportunities for meaningful interaction among the University’s alumni, students, and faculty, and facilitating the exchange of information;
- promoting career guidance and the selection of gifted young people for admission to the University;
- contributing to the improvement of educational content, resources, methods, and forms of instruction, as well as the quality and effectiveness of professional training;
- creating favorable conditions for the harmonious development of students and the activities of the University’s student government;
- providing methodological, legal, and advisory assistance and support to members of the Alumni Association, as well as to faculty, staff, and students of the University;
- creating a database of University alumni to establish and foster connections, facilitate the exchange of information, and assist with employment;
- expanding the Alumni Association’s business ties with enterprises, organizations, and institutions in Ukraine’s maritime sector, as well as with relevant international companies;
- strengthening the University’s cooperation with other higher education institutions and alumni associations in Ukraine and other countries.
