1985 – Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.

He defended his dissertation at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; the topic of the dissertation was: “Investigation of the stress-strain state of turbine blades using the photoelasticity method.” By decision of the Council of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv dated January 14, 1985 (Minutes No. 56), he was awarded the degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences in the specialty 01.02.04—Mechanics of Deformed Solids.
