A ceremonial meeting of the Academic Council was held at Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding to mark the university’s 100th anniversary - Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding

Для Національного університету кораблебудування імені адмірала Макарова 2020-й рік є знаковим: навчальний заклад відзначає своє сторіччя. Підготовку до свята розпочали заздалегідь, адже ювілею передував великий комплекс заходів, які тривали протягом усього року. Але саме 18 вересня є Днем народження легендарного університету. Тому в цей день відбулося урочисте засідання Вченої ради НУК. “Безумовно, це славетна дата. НУК — не просто університет, це — бренд міста, візитівка нашої країни взагалі. І це безумовно альма-матер багатьох успішних і щасливих людей — наших випускників,” — запевнив ректор Євген Трушляков.

Over the years, the university has trained more than 100,000 professionals. This is a very large number that speaks to the university’s potential, strength, and faculty, added Yevgeny Ivanovich.

Many guests came to congratulate the faculty and students. Among them was Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych:

“Dear university community! Whatever the name of your institution—UDMTU, MKI, or NUK—you are part of the very fabric of Mykolaiv. NUK is and will remain one of the finest things our city has ever had.”

Indeed, the achievements of the university community did not go unnoticed by city and regional officials. On the occasion of the centennial, many NUO faculty members were awarded the Mayor’s Certificate of Honor, the Mykolaiv Regional Council’s Certificate of Honor, and a certificate from the Department of Education and Science of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

In addition, the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding recently established its Honorary Award. On this day, the first awards were presented to distinguished scholars and leading figures in academia and science.

The highlight of the event was the unveiling of a postage stamp commemorating the university’s 100th anniversary.

“Starting today, Ukrposhta is issuing an official envelope commemorating the 100th anniversary of the National University of Kyiv. This is a significant historical event of national importance, as starting today, envelopes featuring the university will begin traveling throughout Ukraine and around the world,” said Yegor Kosorukov, director of the Mykolaiv branch of JSC “Ukrposhta.”

The special stamp cancellation ceremony took place during the Academic Council meeting.

Also, as part of the event marking the 100th anniversary of the National University of Kyiv, a film was screened that chronicled all the milestones in the institution’s illustrious history.

Indeed, the history of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding spans many years. Over this time, the university has witnessed numerous notable events, scientific achievements, and discoveries; thousands of students have graduated from its halls as qualified professionals. However, it is worth noting that the university administration has even more ambitious plans for the future. It is therefore encouraging that the university is not resting on its laurels but continues to improve and develop for the sake of the country’s bright future.
