On October 16, 2025, the V.O. Sukhomlynsky Educational and Scientific Pedagogical Institute of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding hosted the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation “The Pedagogical Legacy of Vasyl Sukhomlynsky in the Context of Vocational Education: An Interdisciplinary Dimension.” It brought together prominent educators and scholars.
The conference brought together educators, researchers, and students 🎓 from around the world: Georgia 🇬🇪, Poland 🇵🇱, and Bulgaria 🇧🇬.
The focus was on Vasyl Sukhomlynsky, whose ideas of love for children ❤️, doing good 🙏, and the harmonious development of mind and heart take on special significance.



The following speakers addressed the participants with welcoming remarks:
Serhiy Slobodyan – Vice Rector of the National University of Kyiv.
Valerii Budak – Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Advisor to the Rector.
Taras Kremin – Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language (2020–2025).

The plenary session, moderated by the director of the Institute of Physics, Professor Tetyana Stepanova, opened with a range of profound scientific reflections and inspiring ideas.


The participants in the plenary session presented the following important reports:
Taras Kremin (professor at the National University of Kyiv) discussed “The Power and Significance of the Native Language in the Educational Process During the Russian-Ukrainian War” 🇺🇦, emphasizing the role of language as a cultural weapon 🛡️.
Professor Maya Bolkvadze (Batumi State University, Georgia) shared her vision of humanities education in the 21st century through the lens of child-centeredness 👧.
Olena Trifonova (professor at the National University of Kyiv) emphasized the essence of the “Moral School of True Love for Humanity” 🕊️.


Oleksii Listopad (professor at the National Pedagogical University) presented “The Philosophy of Goodness in the Digital Age,” raising the issue of the synergy between humanistic values and technology 💻.
Anatoliy Sytchenko (professor at the National University of Kyiv) explored the topic of intellectual education, emphasizing the integration of intellectual and spiritual development.
Oleksandr Khaetskyi (Associate Professor) highlighted the connection between educators and the city in his presentation titled “Vasyl Sukhomlynsky’s Mykolaiv Audience: Lessons in Humanity” 🏙️.


The conference reaffirmed that Vasyl Sukhomlynsky’s legacy is not a thing of the past, but rather the future of humanistic education, where the focus is on the child, their dignity, talent, and heart. The event became a spiritual space of unity, filled with kindness 😊, sincerity, and faith in the power of education to change the world.
