Venue: Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, 9 Heroes of Stalingrad Ave., Mykolaiv
Number of participants (including those from other countries for international events): — 350 (50).
The purpose of the event is to promote and implement research and development activities in the fields of shipbuilding and ocean engineering within design organizations, research institutes, and educational institutions, utilizing both existing and newly developed methods for the design of ships, vessels, and ocean engineering equipment.
A brief overview of the most significant scientific achievements obtained over the past 3–5 years in the relevant field, including the universities and research organizations involved in the collaboration: In 2012, for its significant contribution to the development of domestic science and the strengthening of Ukraine’s scientific and technical potential, the creative team formed at the National University of Kyiv was awarded the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology for the nationwide project “Development of Universal Transport Vessels and Ocean Engineering Equipment.” Its goal is to develop effective and reliable universal transport vessels and equipment. During the project’s implementation, 25 monographs and over 700 articles (including more than 100 in international publications) were published, over 50 patents were obtained, and nine doctoral and 35 master’s theses were defended. Over the past five years, the university’s scientists have obtained more than 650 patents. In 2010, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Award was presented to talented young scientists in the field of fundamental and applied research and scientific and technical development for the work “Comprehensive Solution to Issues of Organic Household Waste Management Based on Energy-Saving and Environmentally Friendly Innovative Technologies”; in 2012 – the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Award for the work “Trigeneration Technologies for Land-Based and Marine Power Generation.”
Key topics proposed for discussion: The conference plans to address current safety issues in the design, construction, repair, and operation of ships, issues related to the development of theories for the design of shipboard power plants and underwater robotic vehicles, the development and implementation of the latest refrigeration technologies, devices in shipboard electrical systems and automation, the creation of methods for managing projects and programs in shipbuilding, the development of new investment programs in shipbuilding and the maritime transport sector, and more.
