All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation: “The Pedagogical Legacy of Vasyl Sukhomlynsky in the Context of Professional Education: An Interdisciplinary Perspective”

The purpose of this event is to promote the scientific and pedagogical ideas of V. O. Sukhomlynsky in the context of fulfilling the key objectives of developing Ukrainian teacher education. Presenting historical facts regarding V. O. Sukhomlynsky’s pedagogical legacy, reinterpreting his pedagogical ideas in light of the new realities of Ukrainian schools, and identifying and transforming key pedagogical priorities in the work of today’s teachers—these are the main objectives to be achieved within the framework of the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation, “Vasyl Sukhomlynsky’s Pedagogical Legacy in the Context of Professional Education: An Interdisciplinary Dimension.”

The conference is a traditional academic and educational event with a long history and a wealth of experience. Over the years, the conference has drawn participation from teachers of preschool and general education schools, college instructors, as well as academic and research staff from domestic and foreign higher education institutions, and representatives of research institutions (the Institute of Pedagogy, the Institute of Education Problems of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, the V. O. Sukhomlynsky, and the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine).

The conference will focus on current issues in the development of modern teacher education within the following thematic areas, namely:

  1. The Ideological and Methodological Aspects of V.O. Sukhomlinsky’s Pedagogy of Goodness in the Context of Modern Education.
  2. The humanistic paradigm of personality development in preschool and elementary education.
  3. Teacher Training in the Context of Contemporary Educational Reforms.
  4. A teacher’s pedagogical expertise as a resource for effective subject-subject interaction.
  5. The aesthetic potential of art in creating a multicultural educational environment.
  6. Developing Inclusive Competence Among Future Teachers of the New Ukrainian School.
  7. Innovative Approaches to Teacher Professional Development: The Legacy of V. O. Sukhomlinsky—A Source of Inspiration.

To implement the aforementioned conference themes, the V. O. Sukhomlinsky Educational and Scientific Pedagogical Institute of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, qualified scientific and pedagogical staff with relevant expertise are engaged in research. Their body of work includes significant contributions concerning: the implementation of V. O. Sukhomlynsky into the modern context of Ukrainian preschool, primary, secondary, special, and aesthetic education; the integration of the innovative educator’s pedagogical ideas into the training of modern teachers for the needs of the New Ukrainian School; and the development of a scientific and educational environment based on the pedagogy of partnership and the pedagogy of goodness, which are highly relevant issues in today’s globalized society.
