Zhejiang International Maritime College
The college was established in February 2004 and officially opened in February 2006. It was approved by the Zhejiang Provincial Government and registered with the Provincial Department of Education. In 2008, the college passed the quality assessment for vocational and technical colleges conducted by the Provincial Department of Education.
In 2010, the college underwent an on-site inspection by the Crew Training Agency, organized by the China Maritime Safety Administration. In accordance with the requirements of the relevant authorities, the college is to establish itself as a national model vocational and technical college during the 12th Five-Year Plan period.
The college covers an area of 500 hectares, with a building area of over 110,000 square meters and 6,200 full-time students on campus. The college has an affiliated general education school, the Zhushan Maritime School, and seven academic divisions: the School of Maritime Technology, the School of Naval Architecture, the School of Port Management, the School of Maritime Tourism, the School of Adult Education, the PE & Art Center, and the Department of Social Sciences. It also boasts first-class educational facilities, with over 80 classrooms and laboratories on campus and more than 130 off-campus training bases, valued at 50 million yuan. The college offers 25 crew training programs approved by the China MSA, among which BRM, ERM, and ECDIS rank highest among their peers.
