Humanity is rapidly transforming the very nature of its existence. Artificial intelligence, cyber-physical systems, unmanned technologies for production and the movement of goods, 3D design, and instant online information exchange among participants in marketing processes—these are the realities of today. The business community cannot ignore them. They are the focus of modern higher education.
It is therefore no coincidence that the Department of Economics and Digital Business was established at the Faculty of Marine Economics and Ecology of the National University of Shipbuilding. This landmark event resulted from the transformation of the faculty’s key departments—the Department of Intellectual Digital Economy and the Department of Economic Policy and Security (January 1, 2026).
The department participates in the university’s educational programs regarding the fundamental economic training of students and the preparation of PhD candidates in the specialty 051 – Economics.
The desire to uncover the secrets of economic processes is explained not only by a drive for self-knowledge and a quest to penetrate the depths of the universe. Another driving force is the practical need to regulate events occurring in the real sector of the economy. Therefore, the scientific research conducted by the department’s faculty members appears entirely natural; its results are discussed at the department’s scientific and methodological seminars, presented at scientific conferences, and published in scientific articles.
The department’s researchers actively participate in research projects, the evaluation of dissertations, the implementation of national and international projects, and the development of a new model for higher education in Ukraine.
The department’s team is successfully developing cooperation with international companies and foreign universities.
