The leaders of many companies, such
General Motors and PepsiCo,
were accountants.
C. Horngren, J. Foster

Accounting is not only the universal language of business, but also an art whose full beauty is not always apparent to the casual observer, yet is fully revealed to those in the know. Accounting must provide all users with reliable, objective, relevant, and understandable information. The profession of an accountant requires extraordinary talent and patience. However, those who have mastered it are given a special gift: the ability to see, behind the neat rows of numbers, the complex world of the economy in all its interconnections and harmony. This will undoubtedly be confirmed by the head of any successful enterprise. After all, it is difficult to overestimate the role played by accounting professionals in meeting information needs at all levels of management and ensuring the adoption of sound management decisions in a dynamic business environment. For over 19 years, the Department of Accounting and Economic Analysis has been training specialists worthy of this calling.

The faculty of the Department of Accounting and Economic Analysis was established within the structure of the school during the turbulent turn of the century in 1999. The level it has reached today, along with its successes and achievements, is a logical and expected result of the painstaking and dedicated work of many people: faculty members and researchers who have worked here and continue the work they began alongside their leader, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor O.V. Pogorelova.

All of our staff members are exceptional, vibrant, and talented individuals. It is worth noting that the vast majority of the department’s faculty are its own alumni. This explains the positive atmosphere, the spirit of goodwill, the drive for creative achievements, mutual support, and the respectful attitude toward students as future colleagues. The results are clear: over the course of its 19-year history, seven candidates of economic sciences have successfully defended their dissertations, and over 750 graduates have received degrees in the “Accounting and Taxation” program.

The curricula and course outlines for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs (developed based on international experience and accounting standards) have been highly praised by domestic and foreign experts. An important component of the educational process is providing students with textbooks, manuals, and teaching materials prepared by the department’s leading experts.

The rigorous competitive selection process established at the university ensures that well-prepared young people from virtually all regions of Ukraine are admitted to study their chosen majors. These students are characterized by a desire for modern economic knowledge, professional training, and intellectual self-improvement. All necessary conditions have been created for this: the material and technical base includes specialized lecture halls, teaching and methodological rooms, as well as computer hardware and software. It is therefore no surprise that the department is renowned not only within the country but also beyond its borders. Graduates of the department work in all sectors of economic activity, namely: industry, logistics management, the public finance and banking sectors, and the maritime and agricultural sectors.
