Dear users of the official NUK website!
The official NUK website went live in early February 2019. This year, therefore, marks the site’s second anniversary.
We believe it is necessary to publish analytical data regarding website usage. In this age of information technology, the internet is an indispensable and highly sought-after source of information and knowledge. Therefore, by analyzing website traffic based on various metrics, we can draw some important conclusions, such as:
· the regional and age-related interest of prospective students in pursuing higher education;
· gender distribution of interests;
· statistics on the use of information technology (computers, smartphones, etc.);
· the popularity of academic programs and, consequently, the demand for related professions;
· the effectiveness of information presentation and the speed of searching for it;
· the relevance of the information provided;
· effective use of information platforms (search engines, social media, etc.).
During this period, from February 1, 2019, to February 1, 2021, the website was visited by77,310 users, whocollectively logged in for161,580 sessions andviewed827,843 pages.

In this case, the regional distribution of users may primarily indicate applicants’ interest in studying in their city of residence, but it also allows us to draw conclusions about the demand for skilled workers in specific regions.

As shown in the chart below, most users find the NUK website throughsearch engines, followed by users who type the website address directly into the browser’s address bar. Social media pages also contributed to this, attracting 2,103 users.

The gender distribution of interest in higher education indicates a proportional distribution of interest among men and women (assuming that users provided accurate gender information). This, in turn, suggests that gender equality is generally being upheld and that men and women share an equal desire to pursue higher education.
The age distribution of users may indicate that many of them are already employed and see the need to pursue higher education or retraining. However, this data can only be considered reliable if users have accurately reported their age (since many people provide inaccurate age information for a variety of reasons).

It is worth noting that more than half (53.68%) of users accessed the NUK website viaa smartphone. The breakdown of page views by smartphone brand is also interesting.

The average page load time across Ukraine was 3.31 seconds. However, a sort of "anti-record" was recorded in the Ternopil region, where the average load time reached as high as 22.35 seconds. Although this may be due to relatively low interest among residents of the region, it may also depend on the regional internet service provider. Other regions of Ukraine fall within the five-second loading range.
According to the statistics, the page listing the majors was the most visited, with 101,759 views.

Cybersecurity and the number of failed hacking attempts can be considered a separate category of statistics. In particular, the following were successfully thwarted:
· Attempts to integrate third-party code (28);
· Attempts at unauthorized access (215);
· Attacks using other technologies (47).
Thanks to the use of cutting-edge technology, all hacker attacks were successfully thwarted, ensuring the website's uninterrupted operation.
The statistics presented here represent only that portion of the information which does not require specialized knowledge to understand and analyze. Yet even based on this data, we can draw confident conclusions about citizens’ interest in pursuing higher education, the gender distribution of interests, and the regional distribution of inquiries. But the most important and obvious conclusion is that the internet has become an integral part of modern society. The comprehensive availability of digital information is the most effective way to attract the attention of citizens: prospective students, current researchers and staff, as well as partners and potential employers.
