Institute/Faculty:Educational and Research Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering
Department: Programmed Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and Telecommunications
The current stage of social and technological development is characterized by the ever-increasing role of electronics in all spheres of human activity. Today, electronics account for at least 80% of global industrial output. In industry and transportation, in airplanes and cars, in the home and the office, in financial institutions and supermarkets, on spacecraft and at telecommunications companies, in medical facilities and at secured sites—electronic devices and systems play a key role everywhere. These include a wide variety of devices, ranging from modern power supplies to microprocessor-based devices and microcontrollers, navigation, location, and control systems for various objects, television systems, mobile and other communication systems, general-purpose and specialized computers, security and surveillance systems, and more.
The ongoing trend toward digital electronics requires an increase in the number of electronics specialists who possess the necessary theoretical training and practical skills in advanced digital technologies and micro- and nano-electronic components to ensure qualified maintenance of modern equipment and the creation of new models of competitive computerized electronic equipment.
The curriculum is designed so that students acquire fundamental knowledge of algorithmic, software, and hardware support for electronic systems across a range of related disciplines.
