The "Shipbuilding" educational and research program is designed to train specialists capable of generating new ideas, solving complex problems in shipbuilding through professional research and innovation, applying modern methodologies in scientific and pedagogical work, and conducting their own scientific research, the results of which have scientific novelty, theoretical, and practical significance.
The program is designed to develop the competencies necessary to address complex challenges in the development and refinement of methods for the design, engineering, and construction of ships, floating and other structures for offshore development, river and marine engineering, ocean engineering equipment, underwater vehicles, ship structures, general ship systems, ship devices and components, and ensuring their efficiency and reliability in one of the following areas of shipbuilding production organization and operation:
- Theory and methods for calculating external forces acting on vessels, river or sea-going floating structures, and other structures used for offshore development, river and sea exploration, ocean engineering equipment, submersibles, ship structures, ship machinery, and general ship systems during their construction, launching, and operation.
- Theory and methods of structural mechanics, calculations, and experimental studies of strength, stability, vibration, and reliability of hull structures and components of ships, floating structures, and other facilities for offshore development, river and ocean exploration, ocean engineering equipment, submersibles, shipboard devices, and shipboard systems
- Theory and methods of designing, optimizing, and improving hull structures and components of ships, floating structures, and other facilities for offshore development, river and marine exploration, ocean engineering equipment, submersibles, shipboard devices, and shipboard systems.
- Theory and methods of design, optimization, and improvement of ships, floating structures, and other facilities for offshore development, river and sea exploration, ocean engineering equipment, submersibles, shipboard devices, and general ship systems.
- Development of methods for the technological preparation of shipbuilding production.
- Development of technologies, equipment, and tools for the manufacture of ship hull components and structures, marine equipment, shipboard systems, and shipboard spaces, as well as their installation during the construction of ships and floating structures.
- Development of technologies for the automation and optimization of shipbuilding processes, as well as those for technical equipment and floating composite structures.
- Development of methods for assessing the reliability of ships and shipboard equipment under aging and wear conditions, as well as methods for the renovation, refitting, and modernization of ships, floating and other structures for offshore development, river and sea exploration, submersibles, oceanographic equipment, and their components and systems.

- Theory and methods for calculating external forces acting on ships, river or sea-going vessels, and other structures used in offshore, river, and deep-sea development, as well as on ocean engineering equipment, underwater devices, ship structures, ship equipment, and general ship systems during their construction, launch, and operation.
- Theory and methods of structural mechanics; calculations and experimental studies of the strength, stability, vibration, and reliability of hull structures and components of ships, floating structures, and other structures used in offshore, river, and deep-sea development; ocean engineering equipment; underwater devices; shipboard equipment; and general ship systems

- Development of methods and technologies for the automation and optimization of shipbuilding processes, related equipment, and floating composite structures.

Development of methods for assessing the reliability of ships and their technical equipment in terms of aging and wear, as well as methods for the renovation, conversion, and modernization of ships, floating structures, and other structures used in offshore, river, and deep-sea development, underwater vehicles, and ocean engineering equipment, including their components and systems.
